Oh Canada!

Seems like our neighbors to the north in Ontario Canada have gotten aboard the “Silly Smoking Law” train!
Starting on June 1st, cigar retailers that have walk in humidors can no longer allow their customers to go in and select their cigars. The customers must first select what cigar they want from a list and then the store employee must go inside the humidor to retrieve it for the customer.
I guess the theory is that if you make it hard for a customer to have what he or she wants in terms of a lawful product, but a product the snobbish lawmakers don’t care for, that the customer will just not bother smoking cigars anymore, which is what the lawmakers want.
Forget about all the taxes that these cigar stores bring into the provincial government, forget that cigar stores employ their citizens and forget that cigars are a legal product.
Lawmakers just seem intent on doing everything in their power to run legal mom and pop businesses out of business for selling a legal product, but one they don’t like!
The Ontario lawmakers must have been watching C-SPAN I guess!
