From the latest issue of Cigar Insider by Cigar Aficionado Magazine:
THERE ARE SIGNS THAT THE SMOKING BAN TREND COULD BE EASING.
In the past 30 days, lawmakers in three states have made initial moves that would ease smoking bans. A bill in Colorado, which is expected to be introduced shortly, would change the state’s draconian Clean Indoor Air Act, allowing the creation of new cigar bars. The development of the bipartisan bill was originally reported on in the January 27 Cigar Insider. Tonight, Long Beach, California, lawmakers are expected to pass a measure
allowing smoking inside “cigar lounges.” Smoking is presently prohibited in virtually every indoor spot in the city. And last night, Nebraska lawmakers proposed changing their laws to allow smoking in cigar shops, and perhaps pool halls as well. (See page six.) The move in California, where smoking is banned in some apartment buildings and the entire town of Calabasas, is particularly encouraging.
